    I have a question about the video. Are you wearing something to protect your butt like a diaper? I used a transfer board two years ago to practice transfer, and I got hurt my butt, so I haven't tried it since then because I'm afraid to use the transfer board.

    • @JennySmithRollsOn
      @JennySmithRollsOn Месяц назад

      @@culee7321 No, but I place the board under my thighs rather than my bony bottom. Some people transfer with their bottom on the board, whereas I prefer the board under my thighs. Each person is different, though. I have discovered that wearing pants is the best. Wearing shorts just doesn’t work for me when I use a sliding board.

    I had my BCIR in 2001 for my Crohn’s Disease. I’ve had 3 major surgeries since then due to the scar tissue on my small intestines. I was lucky enough to find a doctor in NYC that was familiar with this procedure. It definitely made a difference in my life as I don’t have to worry about any accidents. I am currently on Stelara which seems to keep my Crohn’s in check. Overall this procedure was well worth it. I wish you the best of luck.

    I have an impossible too. I have a contracture in my right arm it's at like a 60° angle so I can't lock my elbows out. In the hospital I had a trach and I had trouble telling people anything lol they couldn't hear me and the only way I could handle the pain was to press my thumbs to my chin and hold there for hours. So now I have this contracture on both sides the left is only slight because the tricep is stronger but it makes it impossible to transfer the way they teach. So I came up with my own way I turn on my side drive the chair up next to the bed it's a tilt in space I raise the legs and recline the back and roll into my chair I have choreographed a whole process so that I can do everything without any assistance or supervision when I showed my therapist they said oh my God that is so dangerous I said I do it everyday now so I know what you mean by conquering the impossible I do it every time I figure a way to circumvent my limitations thank you for your videos you're teaching me a lot
